Doris R. Carpino, of Rhinebeck, a longtime resident of Port Ewen and Kingston, died Monday morning, June 6, 2011, at the Ferncliff Nursing Home, Rhinebeck.
Mrs. Carpino had been employed by Benedictine Hospital until her retirement; she then worked as a crossing guard at Washington Ave. for the George Washington Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking, baking and crafts.
She was born August 29, 1929 in Saugerties, the daughter of the late Jeremiah and the late Ida (Tompkins) Berryann.
Doris married her husband of over 46 years, Ralph F. Carpino, Sr., in October of 1950. Ralph died on December 11, 1996.
She is survived by her loving family, her children, Linda Piccoli, Virginia Beach, Teresa Carpino, Bristol, CT., Ralph F. Carpino, Jr., Rockland, MA, Jerry A. Carpino, Kingston, a sister Janis Berryann, Kingston, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Burt Lewis, Alice Simms, Dot Kilmer, Betty Lewis, Georgiana Frost and Donald Berryan
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, where friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm. The procession will form on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Presentation R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
