Doris Mitchell Josefski

January 25, 1924 — September 14, 2012

Doris M. (Edge) Josefski, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, died peacefully in her home on Wrentham St, Kingston, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, September 14, 2012. She was born in New Salem, NY, the daughter of the late Horace and Ellen "Nellie" (Cooper) Edge and the wife of the late Stephen J. Josefski, who passed away on February 6, 1973. A graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1941, Doris traveled throughout the East Coast during the war years with her husband, before settling back in Kingston to raise their family. Doris was a wonderful mother, supporting and encouraging all of her children's education and endeavors. Doris was a devoted, life-long member of St. James United Methodist Church, serving as the administrative assistant from 1976 until April 2012. She was a gentle presence, providing many people with their first contact to the church. Active in the congregation, she volunteered on many committees and groups, and taught Sunday School for many years. Making a warm and loving home was important to her: she enjoyed gardening, music, sewing, needlework, and playing games with her family and friends. Doris was a good athlete; she enjoyed swimming and participating in sports; she was an avid Yankee fan. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou Esposito and her husband Joe of Bedford, MA; Stephen Josefski Jr. and his wife Lori of San Diego; Dr. Mark Josefski and his wife Karen Levine of Kingston; Susanne Parker and her husband Mark of Andrews, NC; David Josefski and his wife Bonnie of Pembroke Pines, FL; Dawn Josefski of Greenfield, MA; Martin Josefski of New York City; grandchildren: Michael Esposito and his wife Karen Whyte, Katie Esposito and her partner Alice Taylor, Alix Josefski and Hannah Josefski; her brother, Robert Edge of Kingston, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her siblings, Beatrice Manookian, Alice Hendricks, Chester Edge, Evelyn Peterson, Louise Wells and Andrew Edge.
