Doris Breitenstein of Grant St., Kingston died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Benedictine Hospital.
She was born March 8, 1922 in Meriden, CT a daughter of the late Herman and Emma Schroeder Knop.
For many years, Mrs. Breitenstein worked as a seamstress in the Kingston area garment industry. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crosswords, reading and camping.
She was devoted to her husband and family.
On March 8, 1942 she married Norman F. Breitenstein who died December 19, 2007.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth and his wife Joyce of Connelly; Donald and his wife Darlene of Cottekill; Gene and his wife Sharon of Lake Katrine and her daughter, Elaine Freer and her husband, Gerald of Kingston; a sister, Alvina Monfett of Kingston and her grandchildren, Stacy Breitenstein, Robert Breitenstein, Richard Gille, William Breitenstein, Jodi Hernandez, Maria Minkler, Barry Kelly and Melissa Kelly. Several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A sister, Gladys Ellsworth died previously.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Monday at 12:00 noon. Rev. Robert Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery.
