Doris L. Struber, of Dewitt Mills Road died Thursday, November 4, 2004 at Kingston Hospital. She was 80.
A caring and concerned part of the community, Doris always had a smile and a friendly hand to lend to lend to anyone who was in need.
She was born in New York City on October 22, 1924, a daughter of the late Gustav and Henrietta Behrens Winterfeld.
Mrs. Struber was the head of the Admitting Office of the Kingston Hospital for many years. After her retirement she split her time between Hurley and Edgewater, Florida.
She volunteered at the Kingston Hospital Thrift Shop. While in Florida, she volunteered at Cape Canavral Sea Shore National Park. She was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Kingston.
Her husband Cornelius “Neil” Struber died in 1991. One brother George Winterfeld died previously.
Beloved wife of the late Cornelius “Neil” Struber, loving mother of Douglas Struber; sister of Charles and William Winterfeld. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Monday at 12:00 PM at the funeral home, Rev. Paul Marshall will officiate.
