Donald H. Glass

Donald H. Glass, 85, of Indian Spring Lane, Whittier, passed peacefully Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Thompson House, Rhinebeck. He was born May 29, 1929 in Columbiana County, Ohio, the son of the late Rosanna and Howard V. Glass.



He was the husband of Jacquelyn Foote Glass, they wed on April 17th, 1954 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.



Donald was a graduate of McKinnely High School. He then served in the US Air Force, from 1946 - 1949, and was an airplane electro mechanical instructor. After the service, he graduated from the University of Cincinnati, Class of 1955, with a degree in electrical engineering.



Donald went to work for IBM, and was an advisory engineer at IBM Kingston until his retirement in 1990. He also owned and operated Kingsvale Water Company in Whittier until 1998.



Donald was a faithful and active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer; he had served as treasurer for 15 years, secretary for 20 years and served on the church council for 36+ years. He was a member of Canton Lodge #60 F & AM and was very involved in Rip Van Winkle Council Boy Scouts of America and was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club.



Donald was loved dearly by his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Jacquelyn Glass he is survived by Mark A Glass and his wife Sandra, Burlington NC, Sue Hollar and her husband David Hollar of Kingston, Julieanne Davidson and her husband William of Boiceville, David H Glass and his wife Sue of Kingsland, Ga, Donald L and his wife Diane of Kingston, and Scott D Glass and his wife Heather of Langhorne Pa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Justin, Bryan, Jarrett, Deanna, Jessica, Katherine,Kristine, Mark, Kevin, Sharon,Rebecca, Sarah, Alissa, Emily,Taylor and Meghan. In addition he is survived by one sister Ruth Suntheimer of Canton, OH. He was predeceased by his parents Roseanna and Howard Glass, and his sister Betty Horger. He has several nieces and nephews that also survive. ,



Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Saturday from 4 - 7 pm.



The service will be at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Sunday at 2:30pm. The Rev. James Rowe, officiating. Burial Monday morning, 11 a.m.graveside at Montrepose Cemetery, with military honors provided by Joyce Schirick Post # 1386 VFW.



The family suggests in lieu flowers memorial contributions be made to Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, C/O Capital Fund, 104 Wurts St., Kingston, NY, 12401
