Donald G. Newell, Sr., 80, of Kingston, NY, previously of Hudson, Florida, died Friday, July 9, 2010 at Golden Hill Health Care Center, Kingston, NY. He was born June 21, 1930 in Kingston, NY to the late George B. and Lucy Rose Newell.




He was married to Barbara J. (Rathgeber) Newell, they wed on September 29th 1956 at Kingston, NY.




He was a PFC in the United States Army serving in Korea during the Korean War.




Donald was a Department Technician before retiring in 1990 for IBM, Kingston.




In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Donna-Lynn (Newell) and her husband Tom Henebery, Kerhonkson, NY, son Donald G. and his wife Susan (Sweeney-Wenzel) Newell Jr., High Falls, NY, Wayne D. and his wife Michele (Bundy) Newell, Jupiter, FL, grandson Thomas and his wife Anna Henebery, Accord, NY, granddaughter Heather Henebery, Verona, NJ, grandson George Newell, High Falls, NY, grandson Nicholas Newell, High Falls, NY, step granddaughters; Lori Wenzel, Shandaken, NY, Kari Santiago, Saugerties, NY, granddaughter Amelia Newell, Jupiter, FL, grandson Logan Newell, Jupiter, FL, great granddaughters; Skylar Henebery, Accord, NY, Haylee Henebery, Accord, NY, step great grandson Tyler Wenzel, Saugerties, NY., step great granddaughter Haley Santiago, sister Margaret Longo, Hicksville, NY, brother Glenn B. and his wife Valerie (Hertica) Newell,St. Remy, NY, Several Nieces & Nephews




Friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.

Burial in Wiltwyck Cemetery, Kingston with military honors.
