Dominica F. Zoda

Dominica "Dom" F. Zoda, 94, of Kingston, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 20, 1921 in Kingston, to the late Joseph and Josephine (Orefice) Zoda.


Dominica was a Kirker & Laboratory Assistant for Hercules in Port Ewen for 36 years until her retirement. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's RC Church in Kingston.


She had been an avid bowler and loved traveling with her friends, completing "seek a word" puzzles, Big Band music, watching Gunsmoke & Bonanza. She enjoyed vegetable gardening and was proud of her harvest which she would share with friends and family. She was also an avid Bird Watcher and knew every species by their song. She had a passion for the railroad and anything to do with trains. Her face always lit up as she told stories of adventures with her father and siblings from her younger years.


Dominica is survived by her sister, Gloria Zoda of Kingston as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her sisters, Rose Buzzanco, Bertha Gilbert, Theresa DeFalco, Mary Zoda, Ann Zoda, and Helen Ellsworth.


Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Thursday January 21st from 10am to 12pm. The funeral service will follow at 12pm at the funeral home. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston.
