Dominic C. Ausanio, Jr.

Dominic C. Ausanio Jr., 55, of Hillside Terrace, Kingston died Wednesday, November 9, 2005. He was born February 17, 1950 in Kingston, a son of Dominic and Janet Van Giesen Ausanio. Mr. Ausanio joined the Kingston Police Department on January 23, 1971. He was promoted to detective on May 22, 1980. He was a member of the Kingston Police Dive Team, former President of the Kingston Police Benevolent Association and a member of the Gold Shield Society. He retired from the police department on January 16, 1988. Surviving is his wife, Donna Reilly Ausanio whom he married on December 10, 1968. Also surviving are his daughter Susan Ausanio and her fiancé, Kevin Hines, his son, Dominic C. Ausanio III and his girlfriend Kristy Mitchell, his grandchildren Kaitlyn, Tristan and Devin Hines; his sister, Rosemarie Foust of Rochester and his brother, Robert Ausanio of Kingston. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Sunday from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 pm. The funeral procession will form on Monday at 9:00 am from the funeral home. At 10:00 am a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
