Dolores G. Heitzman

Dolores G. Leirey Heitzman, 82, of Terrance Street, Kingston, passed peacefully Monday, October 6, 2014 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 3, 1932 in Kingston, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Foerst Leirey.


Dolores was a parishioner of St. Peter's RC Church and was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1949. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting, traveling and spending time with her family.


She is survived by her loving husband Clement "Clem" Heitzman, they wed on October 7, 1950. Her children Barbara A. Sickler and her husband Robert of Stone Ridge, Michael C. Heitzman of Ulster Park, David C. Heitzman and his wife Kathleen of Kingston, Stephen C. Heitzman and his wife Linda of Millsboro, DE, a sister Lucille Kloss of Youngsville, NC, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan F. Heitzman, her siblings Frank and George Leirey and Mary Clancy.


Entrusted to the care of the Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston. The family will receive their friends on Thursday from 3 - 6 pm. The procession will form on Friday at 9:30 am at the funeral home. At 10:30 am a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's RC Church. Burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Shandaken.
