David W. Hoffman, 74, of Hurley, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Golden Hill Health Care Center in Kingston. He was born August 7, 1940 in Kingston, to the late James and Ruth (Greenfield) Hoffman. He was married to his loving wife of 51 years, Eileen "Mitzi" (Eyles) Hoffman; they wed in 1963 at Old Dutch Church in Kingston.
David was a graduate of Saugerties High School. He worked as a Financial Consultant/Manager for Prudential Securities in Kingston and hosted a radio show called "Your Money" on WGHQ for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and went on many hunting and fishing excursions throughout the country. He was a founder of the former Eagle Bowl Hunting Preserve and was a member of Twallfskill Golf Club and Wiltwyck Country Club. David raced sports cars and was a flagman at Limerock in Connecticut. He was also a member of the International Arabian Horse Association and a former member of the Kingston Kiwanis Club.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Pamela Bluish of Robinsville, NJ, and Kimberly Shackelford of Santa Ynez, CA, as well as his grandchildren, Garret, Matthew, & Michael Bluish. He is predeceased by his brothers James & Richard.
