David L. Madison, 80, of Kingston, NY, passed away Tuesday evening, April 25, 2017 at his home. He was born July 9, 1936 in Kingston, the son of the late James Modica and Virginia Van Dyne Modica. He was married to the late Jeannine Tierney Madison for 52 years, she passed on April 18, 2014.
He was a graduate of Kingston High School and served our country in the US Army, having been stationed in South Korea and Washington DC.
He worked for New York Central Railroad, and then Verizon (NY Telephone and NYNEX) until his retirement. He was a member of the Kingston Post # 150 American Legion, and loved to play golf, read and fly the flag, but most of all he loved being with his family.
He is survived by his daughters Michelle Madison, Nancy Madison, Jodi Madison, Suzanne Madison and her partner Keith Landerway, grandchildren Danielle (Jason) Mammen, Jocelyn and Christina Sottile, Joshua (Ryan) Winne, Taryn and Kadilyn Winne, Dayne Landerway and great grandchildren Timothy Winne and Lucas Mammen. His brothers Newton (Jennie) Madison, Donald (Vestella) Madison, Ernie Madison, Virginia (Lindy) Fargher and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Michael Madison and a sister Betty Lou Madison.
Entrusted to the care of the Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, the family will receive their family and friends on Monday May 1st, 2017 from 11 - 12 pm, the service at 12 noon, followed by inurnment in St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors provided by Joyce Schirick Post # 1386 VFW.
