David H. Brook

David H. Brook, 86, of Huntington, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at his in laws house in Hurley. Born in Brooklyn, he was a son of the late Abraham & Harriett Brook. David was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Army. He was a well-read history buff who enjoyed old movies and spending time with his family. He was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting. David is survived by his son, Steven Brook and his wife Elizabeth of Gaylordsville, NY. Two grandchildren, Matthew & James Brook also survive. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his wife Florence Emig Brook, whom he married on March 6, 1956 in Redeemer Lutheran Church, Kingston and who passed on March 1, 2010. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, with Rev. Paul Britton from Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Military honors by Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 Color Guard, will follow the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Northport Medical Center, 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768.
