David E. Bodenweber

September 3, 1962 — February 13, 2024

David Bodenweber, 61, of Kingston passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at home in the comforting presence of his family. Born September 3, 1962 in Kingston, NY, David was a son of Robert A. and Barbara (Holodak) Bodenweber.

He graduated from Kingston High School in 1981 and earned his B.S. from Clarkson University and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from NYU Polytech Institute. David started his career at Central Hudson before moving on to his own electric and construction business. David was a truly skilled carpenter who had a gift for fixing, building and creating anything he could conceptualize including designing and building his own home, which he took great pride in. He was always busy in his workshop using his woodworking talent or fixing something for himself or others. David was never a stranger to lending a helping hand. He enjoyed family time, the outdoors, summer vacations at the seashore and his favorite band, “The Grateful Dead”. Despite having a rare degenerative disease and battling cancer for many years, he loved life.

David is survived by his mother, Barbara Bodenweber, siblings Cathy (William) Frangis, Karen (Wayne) Waligurski, Robert Bodenweber and Paul (Patricia) Bodenweber, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and his lifelong friends Terri Martini and Phil DeCicco. David is predeceased by his father, Robert A. Bodenweber.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 17 at 12pm at St. Catherine Laboure Church in Lake Katrine. Our family would like to express our gratitude and appreciation to all the friends, family and caregivers, especially Jen Vandemark, who stood by David's side and cared for him lovingly through his most challenging times.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hudson Valley Hospice at www.HVHospice.org or the Kennedy's Disease Association at www.kennedysdisease.org To leave a message of condolence, please visit www.keyserfuneralservice.com
