Darryl L. Thayer

Darryl "Dally" Thayer, 64, of Port Ewen, formerly of Kingston, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 at Kingston Hospital. She was born January 9, 1949 in Kingston, to the late Carl and Edna Cline.

She worked as a residential counselor for Gateway Industries in Kingston for over 20 years. Darryl was a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She loved her children more than her own life, and truly had the biggest heart! She loved her home and always took great pride in making it look beautiful, especially when she could be out planting her flowers or sitting on her deck watching the boats go up and down the river. Words cannot express the loss we all feel without her here, the sun will never shine as bright as it once did!


Darryl is survived by her daughters, Tara Lynn Mann of Accord & Natasha S. Thayer of Port Ewen, a grandson, Thomas John Mann III of Accord and a great granddaughter Halana Marie Mann of Port Ewen, as well as two nieces. She is predeceased by her brother Jan Cline.


Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. A memorial service will take place on Sunday Feb., 24th at the Town of Esopus United Methodist Church, Green & W. Main St., Port Ewen, NY 12466 at 2pm.
