Daniel Levy

Daniel Levy, 72, of Hurley, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at his residence. He was born August 9, 1939 in Kingston, the son of the late Alexander and Dora Leibowitz Levy.

He attended Kingston High School, he then enlisted in the US Navy, from 1956 - 1960. He served on the USS Mitschner.

He is survived by his loving family, his wife of 54 years, Donna M. Levy, daughters Bonnie L. Short and her husband Donald of Saugerties, Virginia K. Sliwa, Naples, Fl., grandchildren Daniel J. Short of Hoboken, NJ and Shanna N. Short of Naples, Fl. His brothers Abe Levy of Miami, Fl., Hank Levy of Palm Springs, CA, Harry Levy of Yorktown Heights, NY, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Benjamin Levy and Meyer "Mike" Levy. Dan loved outdoor activities, especially hunting on Hurley Mountain and fishing at the local reservoirs. He was a life member of the Lake Katrine Rod & Gun Club, was a member of the NRA and Joyce Schirick Post # 1386 VFW.
Entrusted to the care of Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral Service, 326 Albany Ave. Kingston. Services will be private at the discretion of the family
