Clifford Charles Spiesman, 84, formerly of Kingston, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 20, 2009 at his home at Hunters Run, Boynton Beach, Florida.
He was born December 30, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Harry and Ann Marcus Spiesman. He moved to Kingston in 1940 and was a graduate of Kingston High School. He was a Kingston businessman for many decades where he owned and operated Spiesman's Bakeries, Inc. until his retirement in the early 1990s.
He married Arlene Margolis Spiesman, his beloved wife of 54 years, on March 20, 1955 and spent most of his life living in Kingston as a loving son, husband and father. He was a member of Wiltwyck Country Club where he enjoyed his pastime of golf for many years. He was also a private pilot, a hobby which he shared for many years with his wife.
Surviving are his wife Arlene Spiesman, his son Randy Spiesman and his wife Terry of Kingston; son Thomas Spiesman and his wife Debra of Montville, NJ; daughter Penny Ellis and her husband James of Bayfield, Colorado; grandchildren, Matthew Spiesman, Sara Spiesman, Nashon Spiesman and Kennen Ellis; nephews Elliot and Sam Spiegel, Howard Selsky and Gloria Blankenship; sister in law Mildred Selsky.
He was predeceased by his brother Edwin Spiesman.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Avenue, Kingston. Rabbi Yael Romer will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery. A period of mourning will be observed at the Hurley residence of Randy Spiesman on Sunday and Monday from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m, at the New Jersey residence of Thomas Spiesman on Tuesday evening.
