Christine (Gjurovich) Oakley, 74, of Accord, New York, passed away on May 16, 2024. She was born on July 1, 1949, in Kingston, New York.
Christine was a retired registered nurse and proudly served in the Air Force from 1968 to 1969. She was known for her strength, generosity, wit and faith. As a young single mother in the early 1970’s, Christine was fiercely independent; working, going to school and raising her 2 eldest sons on her own. Christine’s generosity knew no bounds. Christine never let someone in need go without and was quick to offer her time and resources to friends, family and strangers alike. Christine was well known for her sharp, sometimes dark sense of humor and was loved all the more for it. Christine was a devout woman who knew that one day she would be in the lord’s embrace when her time came.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas Oakley, her sons Charles Bollin, Dillon Oakley, and Travis Blu, as well as her grandchildren Amadeus, (Aayla) Shanti, Luna, Tallulah, and Milo. Christine was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Gjurovich, and her son, Ethan Gjurovich.
Christine worshipped at the Rochester Reformed Church in Accord, NY, where she also served as an elder on the consistory.
