Christa Josenhans of Shagbark Drive, Shokan, died Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 89.
She was born in Wilkau-Hasslau, Germany, a daughter of the late Hermann and Emma Pfeiffer Triebel.
On March 12, 1942 she married Emil Josenhans. The family emigrated to the U.S. from Germany in 1950
Formerly of Queens and Port Washington, Mrs. Josenhans has lived in the area since 1974.
Her husband, Emil Josenhans, died April 6, 2007.
Mrs. Josenhans was a member of the Olive Senior Citizens Club and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing crosswords.
Surviving are one daughter Susan Josenhans and her husband Robert Specht of Shokan; two sons Stefan Josenhans and his wife Mary Ann of North Massapequa; and Erich Josenhans and his wife Alisa of Huntington Station; six grandchildren: David Josenhans, Sara Pace, Andrea Grabowski, Alex, Karina and Gregory J. Josenhans; two great grandchildren Paul and Elizabeth Josenhans; many nieces and nephews.
Four brothers and seven sisters died previously.
Friends will be received at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in Ashokan Cemetery in Shokan.
