Chester A. Hendricksen

Town of Ulster- Chester A. “Chet” Hendricksen formerly of Decker St. died Monday, November 24, 2003 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck. He was 90. He was born November 22, 1913 in Brooklyn, a son of the late Arthur and Sigrid Sjakwast Hendricksen. Mr. Hendricksen retired in 1977 from the safety department of IBM in Kingston. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club and was a charter member and former treasurer of the Town of Ulster Lions Club. On February 26, 1938 he married Catherine J. Doyle who died March 2, 1995. Surviving is his daughter, Janice Fitzgerald and her husband Gerald of the Town of Ulster, three grandchildren, Gerald C. James A. and Jill FitzGerald and two great-grandchildren, G. Ryan and Caitlin J. FitzGerald. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A brother William Hendricksen and a sister Violet Prince died previously. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 pm. A funeral procession will form on Wednesday at 9:15 am from the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Colman’s Church in East Kingston. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kingston. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association, 396 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401 or a charity of one’s choice.
