Cheryl Williams, 69, of Kingston, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and closest friends. She was born on June 26, 1955, in Kingston, NY and was the daughter of the late Howard B. Williams and Joan (Whitaker) Williams. She retired from the Holiday Inn in Kingston, NY where she worked for over 40 years as the front office manager.

Cheryl was a lifelong member of the Fair Street Reformed Church where she served as an Elder on Consistory. She was a volunteer at the Church’s Fairly New Thrift Store along with many other church functions that served the local community

Cheryl was also an accomplished sportswoman. Her favorite sport was golf. She was active in the New Paltz Women’s Golf Association as a member of the Ladies League, participating in multiple tournaments annually, especially, the Esther Winkky Memorial Tournament, winning first place 4 times. She was a member of the Rondout Golf Course Ladies League and Wiltwyck Thursday Night Women’s Drop-In League. She also participated in the Ulster County Women’s Championship Golf Tournament and the Ulster County Senior Women’s Golf Association. She felt most at home playing at Green Acres Golf Course with her dad, who taught her how to play golf.

During the winters, skiing was her passion, enjoying Belleayre Ski Center and many trips to Colorado and Vermont with close childhood friends. Ice skating weekly at the Kiwanis Ice Rink in Saugerties was included in her winter activities. Being a member of Armed Women of America, Ulster County Chapter was a year-round interest as well.

Cheryl made many friends being a part of local car shows. Her pride and joy was showing her deceased brother’s 1969 Camaro on Friday nights at the Rainbow in Port Ewen winning trophies for its original condition.

She is survived by her sister, Karen (Bob) Lynt and their dog, Harley, whom she adored more than anything. She is also survived by many cousins and an abundance of loving friends. Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Joan Williams, her brother, Howard J. Williams, and her brother-in-law, Glenn LaConture.
