Chauncey Elliott of Vans Terrace, Lake Katrine died Friday, December 11, 2009 at his home. He was 82.
He was born in New Paltz, a son of the late Chauncey and Mabel Keyser Elliott. A lifelong area resident, Mr. Elliott served in the US Navy during WW II. After service he married Mignon L. Davis on June 26, 1948.
In 1956 he began a career at I.B.M., Kingston. He retired as a Senior Lab Specialist in 1985.
A member of Grace Community Evangelical Free Church, Mr. Elliott belonged to the "A" team. An avid snow mobiler and golfer, he belonged to the Rip Van Winkle Golf Club. He was a member of the USS SAMPSON Reunion Association.
His wife Mignon L. Elliott died November 22, 2004.
Surviving are one daughter Robin Alessi and her husband Michael of Livingston, NY, one son Duane Elliott and his wife Donna of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, one sister Anna Mae Miller of Kingston, two granddaughters Lindsey and Brooke Elliott, several nieces and nephews.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at Grace Community Evangelical Free Church, 160 Seremma Ct., Lake Katrine(382-2288)on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
