Charlotte Chace Sibley

Charlotte Chace Sibley, 62, of Accord, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Ferncliff Nursing Home in Rhinebeck, NY. She was born January 5, 1957 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Russell Sibley and Joan (Little) Sibley.

A graduate of Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN, Charlotte later received her Law Degree from SUNY Buffalo. She spent her entire professional career representing hard-working, low income migrant farmworkers and their families, first at Florida Rural Legal Services in Belle Glade, Florida and then serving as Managing Attorney of the Farmworker Law Project of the Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York at the time of her death.

In addition, Charlotte taught First Response and CPR Courses in Marbletown, NY. She was also a member of the New Paltz Rescue Squad and Kripplebush Fire Company. She was a lifetime reader, enjoyed backpacking and was an avid hiker, having hiked several of the "High Peaks" in the Adirondacks.

Known by her family & friends as Charsie or Char, Charlotte is survived by her husband Douglas Adams of Accord, NY, her siblings, Elizabeth Sibley (Robert Liddle) of Nantucket, MA, and Russell Sibley (Despina Zervos) of Tampa, FL, her nieces and nephews, Jason and Joshua Sibley-Liddle and K. Chace and J. Brigham Sibley, as well as many cousins and other dear family and friends.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY, 12401. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
