Charles W. Koeppen

Charles W. Koeppen, 94, of West Hurley, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015. He was born June 29, 1921 in Kingston, to the late Charles and Caroline (Grube) Koeppen. He was married to Marion (Pothemont) Koeppen, they wed on May 16th, 1948.


Charles was a carpenter's helper at Stewart Air Force Base before serving in the US Army, 106th Medical Battalion, Company B, during World War II. After the service, he worked for Forst Meat Packing and then was a Machine Operator for Quality Fabrication in Kingston, retiring in 1983.


In addition to his wife Marion, he is survived by his son, Charles W. Koeppen, Jr. of West Hurley, his sister, Gloria Norton of West Saugerties, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Bertha Ward, and his brother, Louis Koeppen.


Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, where friends and family may visit on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
