Charles M. Galvin, 67, of the Town of Kingston, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Benedictine Hospital. He was born December 6, 1944 in New York City to the late Martin and Anne Galvin. He was married to his loving wife, Sharolyn Kastner-Galvin.
Charles served his country in US Navy, during his service he served on the honor guard detail for President Kennedy's funeral service. After his honorable discharge he worked as a fire fighter for the Kingston Fire Department. He later owned and operated Lucas Ave. Pet Supply, worked as a toll collector on the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge and at Lynch Auto Parts. He was also the Highway Superintendent for the Town of Kingston. He was a member of the Ruby Rod & Gun Club.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Tammy Black of Alaska, Charles P. Galvin of Texas, a sister, Rose Cicchetti of Florida, one niece, one nephew, several cousins and many close friends.
Entrusted to the care of Luke Keyser of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, where friends may call on Saturday, September 15th, from 1 - 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation in Charles' name to a charity of your choice.
