Charles A. Franco of Kingston died Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Palmer House of Mid-Hudson ARC.
Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Marco Franco & Rose Sagnelli Franco.
Charles was born on February 14, 1942, the oldest of 4 children, and grew up in the Bronx, NY. Despite developmental disabilities diagnosed in early childhood, Charles was able to attend St. Mary’s Catholic School in the Bronx and receive Communion and Confirmation. He loved music, coming from a strong family background of music,
and enjoyed dabbling with rhythm instruments like drums, tambourine, and maracas. Charles spent the later years of his life in residential settings for the developmentally disabled, most recently Palmer House of Mid-Hudson ARC in Kingston, where the staff came to know and love him and were like a second family to him.
Charles is survived by his two sisters, Diana Eisgruber and her husband, John of Dover, DE and Barbara Criscione and her husband, Thomas of Ossining, NY. Four nieces, one nephew, many grandnieces and grandnephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Charles was predeceased by a sister, Patricia Franco Van Vliet
Funeral service and interment will be privately held.
