Kingston- Charles (Charlie) A. McDonald, formerly of Prospect St. died Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Kingston Hospital. He was 62. He was born November 9, 1940 in Kingston, a son of the late James and Rose Burchett McDonald Sr.. His stepmother Pauline Lucas McDonald also died previously. He was a sergeant and radio technician in the Air Force, serving for five years. Following the service, he worked in several area machine shops. He retired as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal service after 28 years. He had a love for bowling and participated in a number of Kingston bowling leagues. He also loved reading.
He was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church and was a special member of the Usher’s Board where he served as treasurer. He could be counted on by many auxiliaries to help our whereever he was needed. Loving brother of Lillian McDonald, Jeanette R. Smith, Diana McDonald, Joseph McDonald and his wife Patricia, James McDonald Jr. and the late Marjorie Griffin and W. Rick McDonald. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Riverview Baptist Church on Monday from 7 – 9 pm. Pastor Willie Hardin will conduct funeral services at the church on Tuesday at 12:00 noon.
