Catherine E. Kordzikowski of Harding Ave., Kingston died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at ArchCare at Ferncliff. She was 96.
A native and lifelong Kingston resident, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Becker Heldron.
Mrs. Kordzikowski was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and its Women's Guild. She previously sang in the choir.
She enjoyed sewing Raggedy Ann dolls for her grandkids, quilting, knitting, crocheting, cooking, canning and growing her African Violets. She also enjoyed card parties and being surrounded by her family at Lake Taconic and North Lake for outings and picnics.
Her first husband, Chester Gilbert Bogart, died August 1944.
On September 25, 1949 she married Frank V. Kordzikowski, Sr. Mr. Kordzikowski died January 25, 2004.
Surviving are five sons, Ronald C. Bogart of Saugerties, and Robert G. Bogart and his wife Carolyn of Center Moriches, Frank V. Kordzikowski, Jr. and his wife, Wendy of Port Ewen; Richard Kordzikowski and his wife Susan of Stormville; David Kordzikowski and his wife Denise of Davie, FL. Thirteen grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, a cousin, Robert Haines, and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Three brothers, George, John, and Burton Heldron and three sisters, Agnes Baxter, Alice Heldron, and Gladys DeCicco all died previously.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Thursday from 2- 4 and 6 - 8 PM. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Friday, 11:15 AM and process to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church for a 12:00 PM service. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
