Casimiro B Landi

November 2, 1925 — April 24, 2014

Casimiro ''Cas'' B Landi, 88, of Union Center Road, Ulster Park, passed peacefully Thursday evening at the Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, Kingston, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 2, 1925 in Brooklyn, the son of the late Joseph Bracci and was raised by his mother Louise Landi and step father Clarence Eckert.

He was the husband of Gertrude "Trudy" Landi, they wed on August 22, 1948.

Cas went to one room schools in Ulster Park and graduated from the St. Remy School in 1939, he then attended Kingston High School. He had been an automotive machinist starting at Guarantee Auto then working for Detroit Auto for 30 years. He then worked for the Highland Schools for 3 years and then for 17 years as Town of Esopus Deputy Highway Superintendant until his retirement in 1987.

At 16 he joined the St. Remy Fire Department; he served as Chief and Fire commissioner and was a life member. He was also a life member of the Ulster County Volunteer Firemen's Association. Cas was a very active member of his community, and in his honor, the Town of Esopus renamed the St. Remy town park the Cas Landi Recreational Park

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Orlando "Butch" Landi and his wife Barbara, Joseph D. Landi, and his wife Terry and Melissa L. Feinberg and her husband Van, grandchildren Daniel J. Landi and his wife Danielle, Katherine "Katie" Landi and Emily Feinberg, sister Dorothy May Weekly and her husband John and Linda Hill and her husband Harry.

Entrusted to the care of the Eric Keyser, Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 216 Broadway, Port Ewen. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 - 5 pm. Officers and members of the St. Remy Fire Department are requested to assemble at 4pm Sunday to pay their respect.

The service will be on Monday at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Last Call will follow at the St. Remy Fire Department.
