Carolyn M. Brightly

Carolyn M. Brightly of Whitney Drive, Woodstock died Friday, January 30, 2009 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 60. She was born in Elizaville on March 6, 1948, a daughter of the late David and Mary Svingala Brightly. Formerly of Staatsburg, Carolyn was a teacher's aide in Red Hook Central Schools for 15 years. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Carolyn, as a skier, belonged to the Trail Sweepers. As a hiker, she belonged to the Catskill-3500 Club and Adirondack Forty-Sixers. An environmentalist, Carolyn worked for the D.E.C., Albany. She has lived in Woodstock for 10 years. Surviving are her sons Micahel Rudolph Grotzer of Hyde Park and Christopher A. Grotzer of Hyde Park, one brother Steven of Elizaville and one sister, Barbara of Florida, many nieces and nephews.
