Carolyn B. "Cardy" Uzzle, 71, of Orchard St. Rhinecliff died Monday, March 15, 2010 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital in New York City. She was born in Sampson County, NC a daughter of the late T. Ivey and Flonnie Mae Harrell Best. She retired in 2006 as vice-president of corporate communications for Bristol Myers Squibb in New York. Surviving are two sons, Tad Uzzle and his wife, Paula of Wappingers Falls and Andy Uzzle and his wife, Allyson of Accord; two sisters, Judy Hughes of Raleigh, NC and Benita May of Charlotte, NC; one brother, Bobby Best of Raleigh, NC. A grandson, Oliver Uzzle; three step-grandchildren, Michael Fanelli and his wife, Andrea, Michael Witson and Ashley Witson and her former husband, Burk Uzzle also survive. A step-grandson, Paulie Kazolias and a brother, C.H. Best died previously. Friends will be received at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Friday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. A memorial service will be held at 8:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
