Caroline H. Savino of Holiday Lane, Town of Ulster died Thursday, May 19, 2005. She was 77. Caroline was born in the Bronx on May 13, 1928, a daughter of the late Karl and Justina Rasczko Walkovich. She moved from Tremont Ave., Bronx to Woodside, Queens and worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. Caroline later worked as a security guard for the Museum of Natural History for 21 years. She retired in 1988 and then moved to Saugerties where she belonged to the Saugerties Seniors. A current Kingston resident, Caroline was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, Kingston. Her husband Julius Savino died in 1974. Surviving are one daughter Geraldine R. Wilson with whom she lived, one brother Vittell Walkovich of Danbury, CT; three nieces Mary Ann Walkovich, Joanne Keever and Beth Ann Bogues; two nephews Joseph and Charles Walkovich. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Frank Damis at St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in the Woodstock Cemetery. Contributions in Caroline's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice Foundation, Inc.
