Carol W. Murray, 80, of Kingston, NY, died Thursday, April 16, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of the late Thomas & Margaret Mahon. Carol spent many happy years as a homemaker and loving mother with many ties to the community in Chatham, NJ. She also pursued a career as a human resources manager with Sutton Laboratories. Carol will be remembered as an avid reader and bridge player. Most of all Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends, often on rambling walks through the woods or at the seaside.
Carol is survived by her husband of 54 years, William A. Murray of Kingston, whom she married on April 29, 1961. Her living family include three daughters; Sheila Murray of Columbia Falls, MT, Jennifer Murray and her husband Roman Hrab of Olive, NY, Heather Murray and her husband Paul Downey of Kalispell, MT and five sisters; Patricia Curran of Los Angeles, CA, Margaret Zampetti and her husband Patrick of Harleysville, PA, Lorraine Salzi and her husband Victor of Gresham, OR, Joan Shumake and her husband Brian of Palm Desert, CA, Nancy DiCosmo and her husband John of Elizabeth, NJ, and four grandchildren: Roman and Vera Hrab, and Lucy and Oscar Downey, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by a son, William P. Murray, with whom she is peacefully reunited.
Carol will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, Kingston, on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 3-7 PM.
The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:00 AM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 at St. Joseph Church.
Interment will follow in Hurley Cemetery.
