Carmelo Giuseppe DeCicco, born on July 13, 1967, passed away on August 13, 2024, leaving a legacy defined by love, strength, and an unbreakable bond with his family. A proud Marine and longtime resident of Kingston, NY, Carmelo was cherished by his community for his joyful spirit, infectious laugh, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His time as a Marine instilled in him a deep sense of honor, duty, and perseverance-principles that guided him throughout his life.
Carmelo's greatest source of pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his former wife, Angela Barone and their four children: Victoria and Zach Zacharia, Dominic DeCicco, Dante DeCicco and Jocelyn Sozzi, Gianni and Madison DeCicco; and his grandchildren: Yiannis and Penelope Zacharia, and Levi DeCicco. He is also survived by his mother, Gaetana DeCicco, his siblings, Salvatore and Brenda DeCicco, Emilia DeCicco, Antonio DeCicco and Maria DeCicco, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Frank DeCicco. His love for them was boundless, and he devoted his life to their happiness and well-being. As a father, Carmelo was not just a parent but a best friend-offering unwavering support, wisdom, and encouragement every step of the way.
A man's life is often measured by the number of lives he touches, and Carmelo had a profound impact on everyone he met. His warm heart and his remarkable ability to bring people together were his gifts. If you knew Carmelo, you knew he had a special way of making even the most ordinary moments feel special. When asked how he was, he'd always respond with a smile, saying that every day was, "just another day in paradise." He had a natural gift for making those around him feel welcome and part of his family, no matter the circumstances.
Carmelo will be deeply missed by his children, family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will forever shine brightly in the lives of those he touched.
