Carl Modjeska

Carl Edward Modjeska of Hunter, NY, passed away peacefully at Ten Broeck Commons on January 19, 2024. He is the son of the late Augustus P. and Sarah Modjeska.  He is predeceased by his identical twin brother Paul A. Modjeska, sister Norma Morgan and his daughter Deborah Payne.  

Carl is survived by his sister Virginia Melia and his daughters Cynde Modjeska, Karen (Joseph) Alessandro and Carla (Robert) Monteleone and his grandchildren J.C. Alessandro, Nicole and Tucker Foti, Spencer and Gabriel Payne, and many nieces and nephews. 

Carl is a graduate of Kingston High School and worked in the family business, Modjeska Sign Studios, Inc., until he retired to his passion as an avid skier and was a PSIA ski instructor.  Carl also enjoyed riding his bicycle, driving his convertible and golfing.  Carl is a member of the Loyal Order of Masons, Kingston Lodge #10.

Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY 12401 where family and friends may visit on Saturday April 27, 2024 from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will take place at 11am with burial following in Mountainview Cemetery, Saugerties, NY.
