Carl J. Hoffmann, 85, of Kingston, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at Golden Hill Health Care Center.
Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Gustav & Beatrice Murphy Hoffmann. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army. He worked for Service Liquor in Schenectady, NY for 26 years until his retirement in 1995. Carl was a Knights of Columbus 4th degree member of the Poughkeepsie Council. He enjoyed golf and spending time with his family.
Carl is survived by his wife of 25 years, Elizabeth Foley Hoffmann of Kingston, his son, Paul Hoffmann and his wife Gretchen of Ossining, NY, two daughters, Mary Cam McGaw and her husband Ronald of Poughkeepsie, Rosemary Evans and her husband Fred of Alexandria, VA, his sister, Joan Killmer of Poughkeepsie. Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Abdoo Hoffmann and his brother Gustav Hoffmann.
Private Funeral Mass and burial was held for the family. A public Mass and Celebration of Carl's life will be held at Mohonk Mountain House in the spring at a date and time to be announced.
