Burton Feit, 92, a resident of the Kingston area since 1957, passed away Monday, February 6, 2023 at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston. He was born on November 29, 1930 in New York City, son of the late Jack and Bessie (Weisman) Feit.
He was a graduate of Far Rockaway High School and then served in the Navy on the USS Gainard during the Korean War. Burt, along with his father and brother, owned VanWinkle Bedding in Kingston for 30 years. Burt retired in 1988. He was an avid reader and loyal NY Mets and NY Giants fan. He enjoyed playing tennis and paddle ball, among many other sports.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Sandra (Margolis) Feit of Lake Katrine, his children, Jill VanDemark and her husband Dan of Lake Katrine, Jay Feit and his wife Mary of Clifton Park, his grandchildren, Allison and Hannah Feit and Kenny VanDemark, his sisters in law, Dorothy Feit and Lorraine Trast and her husband Ira, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Gerald Feit.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where the funeral service will be held at 3pm on Wednesday February 8, 2023 with burial following in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston.
