Brian David Burr

Brian D. Burr of Prospect St. died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at home. He was 59. He was born in Kingston, a son of Nancy Barnum Burr and the late Bertrand K. Burr. Brian was a graduate of Rondout Valley High School, Class of 1973 where he played basketball and football. He graduated from Ulster County Community College and received a Bachelor of Science from Rennselaer Polytecnic Institute. He also attended UCLA. Brian had been employed as a project engineer for Huck Manufacturing. He was an avid reader and a spiritual person. He was a member of the United Reformed Church of Bloomington and the Mendelson Club. Surviving in addition to his mother are two brothers, Bruce Burr and his wife Linda of Delhi, Jeffrey Burr of Naples, FL and two sisters, Christine Lyons and her husband Skip of Port Ewen and Carolyn Pitt and her husband Len of Greenfield Park. Several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews also survive. Entrusted to the care of Paul Geary of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston where friends will be received on Tuesday from 6 - 8 PM. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Nickolas Miles on Wednesday, 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Rosendale Plains Cemetery.
