Bernice L. McCloskey

Bernice L. McCloskey, formerly of Condie St., Kingston died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. She was 76. A native and lifelong Kingston resident, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Jennie Fay Staccio. On September 3, 1955 she married Gerard M. "Boo" McCloskey. Over the years Bernice worked at Kay's Dress Factory, Dragon Sports and, for many years at the YMCA. An avid camper, Bernice also enjoyed BINGO at Golden Hill. Her husband, died July 30, 2008, two sister Margaret Nicoles and Agnes M. Sutton, four brothers Michael F., Charles F., Philip and Joseph Staccio all died previously. Loving mother of Leonard McCloskey and his wife Sherri of Glendale, AZ, Catherine Klitzner and her husband Jeffrey of Kingston and Patrick McCloskey of Kingston; sister of Mary Kaschel of Kingston, grandmother of Kristopher Klitzner, Patrick, Charles, Amanda, Elizabeth and Anthony McCloskey, great grandmother of Matthew Gerard Klitzner, aunt of many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Edmund Burke will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
