Bernard Simon, 81, of Hurley, died Friday, February 14, 2014 at his home.
Born in Brooklyn, he was a son of the late Joseph & Esther Abramowitz Simon. Bernie was a veteran of the US Army having served in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Kingston in 1955. He worked for 36 years as a staff engineer at IBM before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the quarter century club at IBM as well as a member of Temple Emanuel. Bernie was also an avid New York Mets baseball fan.
Bernie is survived by two sons, Darryl Simon and his wife Lisa of Beachwood, NJ and Jay Simon and his wife Michele of Morris Plains, NJ, two sisters, Sheila Simon of New York City and Selma Taboh of Queens, four grandchildren, Cassondra, Gabrielle, Jake and Kayla. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave.
Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
