Beatrice Zanni

Beatrice Zanni of Seyler Terrace, Glasco died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at the Golden Hill Health Care Facility. She was 100. She was born July 17, 1905 in Preseglia, Italy, a daughter of the late Francesco and Beatrice Venturoni Guerra. She married Matteo Zanni in Bescia, Italy on October 15, 1924. They immigrated to the United States and settled in Brooklyn. Mrs. Zanni worked there as a professional monogrammer and embroider. Eventually Matteo and Beatrice moved to Bloomington where they ran a poultry farm for 43 years. They moved to Glasco where Mrs. Zanni has been a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church. Her husband of 69 years died on July 15, 1993. One sister Angelina Mazzini and two brothers Guerino and Batista, of Italy, all died previously. Surviving are one daughter, Ida Ferraro and her husband Joseph of Glasco, a granddaughter Maria Riccio and her husband John of Glasco, two great grandsons Joseph and Nicholas Riccio. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Saturday at 12:00 at St. Joseph's Church, Glasco, Msgr. Charles Zanotti will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery.
