Barry Bertholf

Barry L. Bertholf, age 69, of Bloomington, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 8, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Barry was born on November 9, 1955 in Kingston, NY, son of the late Howard and Jane (Langham) Bertholf. Barry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharen Wert-Bertholf; his son, Jared Bertholf; daughter-in-law, Erin Bertholf; and two granddaughters, Lilith and Ivy Bertholf. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Sharp, and her husband Dennis, along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Hall, and nephew, Ryan Hall.

Barry was employed as a mechanical engineer with Ferroxcube and FTS Systems. He later formed his own consulting LLC and worked as an independent quality management contractor for SP Scientific and ELNA Magnetics. Other than his family, Barry loved sports and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a 200 average bowler and first baseman in softball. He played golf in several leagues and tournaments over the years. He coached youth soccer, as well as Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. He worked on fundraiser events for the Boys and Girls Club of Ulster County. He hunted and fished and was a member of the Dwaarkill Rod and Gun Club and the Stone Church Fishing Club. He enjoyed fishing trips to Black Lake with his friends, and he loved vacationing in Maine and Alaska with his family.

Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 12pm to 2pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at 2pm during which attendees will have the opportunity to share a memory of Barry if they wish.
