Barry Andrew DeForest, 52, of Highland Ave., Kingston, NY, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at Kingston Hospital.

He was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1974 and Norwich University, class of 1978. He loved running and ran in the New York City Millennium Marathon in 2000 and the 2006 New York City Marathon. He also ran in many local races. He had been a member of the Wiltwyck Golf Club and had been a member and board member of the Callabar Club. He was a member of the Fair Street Reformed Church and was a Deacon at the church. He played in the Tuesday night golf league at Stone Dock Golf Club, was a member of the Kingston Rugby Club, was an avid fisherman, and currently was working on getting his private pilots license.
Barry was a licensed insurance executive at the DeForest Group

He was born September 23, 1956 in Kingston and was married to Mary Jo McNierney DeForest, they wed on April 24, 1982. beloved father of Kaitlin Beth DeForest, Kingston, NY, son of Harlow and Barbara (Andrew) DeForest, Kingston, brothers of Craig DeForest, Hurley, NY, and Alan DeForest, Kingston, several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Fair Street Reformed Church on Tuesday at 11am. The Rev. James Alley, officiating. Inurnment in Wiltwyck Cemetery.

Arrangements by Keyser Funeral Service, Inc., 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston where friends may call on Monday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm.
