Barbara "Snookie" Dixon

Barbara “Snookie” Dixon of Fred Short Road died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at her home. She was 64. She was born in Saugerties on April 24, 1940 a daughter of the late Lawrence John and Julia Johnson Lindhurst. A lifelong area resident, for 24 years Mrs. Dixon tender bar at Gallagher’s Bar in Saugerties. She also worked at Lachmanns Bakery and for Stewart’s Ice Cream in Zena. Her husband George H. Dixon died March 14, 1995. Surviving are one son Kevin G. Dixon of Clermont, Florida; two daughters Shari Dixon of Micanopy, Florida and Erica Walbroehl of Palenville; one brother Jim Lindhurst Sr. of Mount Dora, Florida; 4 grandchildren; and 2 nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at the Saugerties Elks Lodge, Route 32 on Sunday, October 10th from 12:00 - 4:00 PM.
