Barbara R. Par of Parish Lane, Lake Katrine died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Archcare At Ferncliff. She was 81. She was born in the Bronx, a daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Bennett Hynes. A secretary, she had been employed at the Rhinebeck Country School. Barbara was a wonderful dancer and loved to laugh. On November 3, 1956, she married George Par in the Bronx. Mr. Par survives at home. Also surviving are her daughter, Susan Shortt and her husband Randy of Vernon, AZ; her son, Thomas Par and his wife Brenda of Ruby; her grandchildren Kellie and Justin Shortt, Steven Zuchowski and Olivia Par and her great-grandson Kaden Jackson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Her brother, Gene Grattan and her sister, Mimi Farrell both died previously. Entrusted to the care of Paul Geary Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston where friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 8:00 PM by Fr. John Kearney. Cremation will be at Wiltwyck Cemetery and inurnment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date.
