Memorial and committal services will be held for Austin and Phyllis Walsh, formerly of Nutley, NJ on Wenesday, December 28, 2005 at 11:00 am at the Brookdale Reformed Church, 10 Bellevue Avenue in Bloomfield, NJ.
Austin, better known as Bud Walsh was born in Belleville in 1925 and worked at the time of retirement for Continental Industries in Newark. He died on June 28, 2005 in Fort Myers, Florida where he lived since 1987. He was 80.
Phyllis Sooy Walsh, was born in Newark and grew up in Belleville. She was for many years the music teacher at Lincoln School and Franklin Middle School and the choral director of the Debonnaires of Franklin School. She was also the minister of Music at the Brookdale Reformed Church. Her influence involved thousands of Nutley students through the years. She died on November 17, 2005 in Fort Myers, Florida. She was 76.
Surviving them are two sons, the Rev. Kenneth L. Walsh, pastor of the Old Dutch Church in Kingston, NY and hs wife Linda, and Dr. Russell A. Walsh of Pittsburgh, PA and his wife, Monica; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Austin is also survived by his sister, Adeline Doan of Nutley.
