Arthur Braunfeld, 86, of Hurley (formally of Oyster Bay, NY and Palm Coast, Florida) died Friday, March 18, 2016 at Ten Broeck Commons.
Born and raised running the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, he was the son of the late Sidney and Celia Hoffa Braunfeld. Arthur honorably served in the Korean War as an aerial photographer and spent the rest of his life devoted to the US Marine Corps. He later worked on Madison Ave in Manhattan as an advertising salesman, one of the quintessential "Madmen." He enjoyed watching classic movies and listening to opera, faithfully supported the NY Yankees, and "Mulliganning" his way out of sand traps from Bethpage, NY to Palm Coast, FL. The family offers heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Ten Broeck Commons for their loving and attentive care to Artie.
Arthur is survived by his two children, Andrea Braunfeld and her partner Elin Posner of White Plains, NY and Gary Braunfeld and his wife Barbara of Hurley. He was an adoring grandfather to Sydney, Timothy, and Kevin Braunfeld.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was predeceased by his wife, Carol Kosachiner Braunfeld and a brother, Jerome Braunfeld.
Funeral service and interment will be privately held.
Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603-4027.
