Arthur Bonner Mann of Governor Clinton Apartments, Albany Ave., Kingston died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Kingston Hospital. He was 64.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan, a son of the late Robert and Mildred Randolph Mann. Mr. Mann was raised in Detoit and graduated Wayne State University with a B.A. in Social Work. He moved to this area in 1981.
During his career he worked in the Human Services for the developmentally disabled; first at the New Hope in Loch Sheldrake, then at Astor Home, Rhinebeck and later as a case worker for child protective services at Ulster County DSS. In dealing with his own disabilities he was pursuing returning to school as a drug counselor.
He was the treasurer of the Kingston area Twelve Step program. Arthur endured many struggles throughout his life, his family however, was his love.
Beloved father of Joshua Mann of Kingston and Felicia Young of Detroit, Michigan; loving brother of Lavinia Jackson, Sheila Mann and Otha Mann, all of Detroit, Michigan and the late Gerald and William Mann; and 23 year partner in life of Crystall McCuin. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at Simpson-Gaus at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
