He was born in Elmhurst, NY on May 1, 1927, the son of the late Deccio and Emma Goduti Parodi and predeceased by his brother Phillip Parodi. He attended Newtown High School and was employed as head usher for Radio City Music Hall where he escorted celebrities such as Gene Kelly and Elizabeth Taylor. He was also a graduate of Delhi College where he played basketball. A US Army veteran of WW II, he served from 1945 - 1946. Mr. Parodi moved to Ulster Park where he owned and operated Tranquility Poultry Farms from 1952-1968 with his long time friend and business partner Nick Pascaretti. On May 12, 1963 he married Irene Michelotti. He retired as a union carpenter from Local 265. Mr. Parodi was a true entrepreneur, and later developed farmland to build a road on which they resided, as well as constructed other houses and building lots. He enjoyed developing land and people knew to call "Arnie" based on his motto offering to sell them "a LOT for a little." He also built duplex houses in Port Ewen, and was well respected and liked by his tenants. Mr. Parodi was passionate about putting people to work and believed in giving back. A true Mets fan, he loved to sit outside on his deck overlooking the Catskill Mountains and watch the Mets play. Spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, as well as friends was what he cherished most of all. Mr. Parodi was a parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus in Wilbur and later on belonged to St. Mary's Church in Kingston. Surviving, in addition to his wife Irene, is one daughter Irene Parodi O'Neill and her husband LeRoy of Hummelstown, PA, and their three children Madison, Halle and Emma; one son John Parodi and his wife Kathleen of Albany.
