Arline B. Smith

Arline B. Smith, 86, of Lomontville, NY, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2015 peacefully in the presence of her loved ones. She was born August 11, 1929 in Jamaica, NY to the late Harold and Vera Bomer.


She was a Kingston High School Graduate, Class of 1946. Arline was married to her husband of 43 years, Clyde W. Smith who owned and operated Smitty's Body Shop in Port Ewen. Clyde passed away in 1990.


She loved her family and was an active caregiver for her grandchildren. She was a horse and gardening enthusiast, owner and operator of Cedar Run Farm in Lomontville and took great pleasure in the breeding and raising of registered Quarter Horses. She was a familiar face at Stone Ridge Horseman, where she advised and assisted customers.


Arline is survived by her children, Robert W. Smith and his wife Joanne of Mt. Ulla, NC , Gail Short and her husband Richard of Lomontville, James W. Smith and his wife Jamie of Port Ewen, Karen Hoover and her husband John of Lomontville, her grandchildren, Brett, Jason, and Jedd Smith, Michael and Matthew Short, Craig Smith, Amy Mack, Jake, Alec, and Caroline Hoover, two great grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Barbara Posnanski and her husband Bill of Florida, and Pat Carter and her husband Lyn of Illinois.


Entrusted to the care of Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Ave., Kingston. Services will be private.
