Ardell E. Swanson

Ardell E. Swanson, 90, of Kingston, passed peacefully Monday morning, June 17, 2013 at Health Alliance Hospital, Broadway Campus, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Jamestown, NY the son of the late Harold and Clara Varmie Swanson.

He was the husband of Jean Jennings Swanson, they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on March 11, 2013.

He was a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Wells, Pacific Theater of Operations, attaining the rank of Electricians Mate, 1st Class.

He had been employed by New York Telephone Company for 39 years until his retirement. He was a member of Joyce Schirick Post #1386 VFW, enjoyed fishing, traveling to the Thousand Islands, motorcycle riding on the back country roads and working around the house

In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Gary E. Swanson and his wife Eileen, Kingston, a daughter Lynn S Jones and her husband Richard, Kingston, grandchildren Michael Jones and his wife Gina, Kristie Caprotti and her husband Fran, Pam Mosqueda and her husband Reuben, Craig Swanson and his wife Jordan and Eric Swanson and his wife Amy and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Quentin Swanson,

The graveside service will be held at Wiltwyck Cemetery on Friday at 11:00 am. with military honors.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to charity of your choice.
